Integrated platform for SoC design management to be demonstrated at Japan’s premier trade show, EDS Fair

San Francisco, Calif. – October 31, 2011 – Methodics, Inc., the leading provider of integrated solutions used in managing design data and semiconductor intellectual property (IP) for complex IC design, will ramp up its presence in Japan next month when it showcases its design platform at the EDS Fair event in Yokohama, November 16-18.

Methodics will demonstrate the time- and cost-saving benefits of its integrated SoC Integrator and Designer tools, a collaborative solution for engineers and managers for managing design data, tracking project activity and delivering project IP. Component IP usage is tracked across the enterprise by project or use, facilitating IP audits and IP reuse analysis. Communications between IP owners and consumers is formalized for easy defect tracking and project management. An accompanying client tool works as an SoC assembly engine for the system, developing accurate and useful Bills of Materials (BOMs) specifically for IP-based design projects.

Methodics will also showcase its flagship product, VersIC, a robust and high-performance design data management system for the Cadence Design Systems custom IC design environment. It provides a single control point to manage versioning, configuration and release information for all critical design assets across multiple locations. With VersIC, design teams can easily integrate with popular configuration management tools such as Perforce and Subversion.

Methodics will be in Booth ECA 009 and will also give an in-depth presentation of its offerings on Thursday, November 17 at Noon in the exhibition presentation area.

“Japan is a critical market for any company in the IC design tool business and we see a large opportunity to help improve the efficiency with which designers there go about managing their IP and design data in the SoC era. With our approach, designers and their management can track and analyze their use of IP and other design data in an intuitive way that streamlines the development process. Our system is well-suited for multi-location, multi-team projects that are common in Japanese electronics companies,” said Simon Butler, president and CEO of Methodics. “We are looking forward to being at the EDS Fair, which is the premier event for people involved with IC design, and using it as a launch pad to break into the Japanese market.”
